With Christmas around the corner more and more exciting plans are being made. Also, more and more tourists are arriving in New Zealand. Summer is here! Do I feel some cold winter vibes there my friends on the other side of the world?

I’m not cheering about the heaps of tourists making their way to New Zealand, ’cause you get less the feeling of being alone in this beautiful scenery. BUT, there is always a but. This year I don’t seem to mind that much… Among those tourists there are 2 people coming especially for me! For me! YAY! My first people from Belgium are coming over to this far country I emigrated to. Perfect holiday present I reckon.

And now let’s fast forward to those exciting plans. The four of us (my mom, her partner, Nico and I) will travel around on the South Island on… I know you can guess it… motorbikes! Nico just bought a Royal Enfield (our memories of riding one in India were just too good) and my family will rent one. I can’t wait to do endless road trips around the country. But kicking off with a 2,5 week loop around the island is quite a good start, don’t you think so?

Last year I was in India to celebrate Christmas and the year before in Australia. This year will be my first Christmas in New Zealand, under the (hopefully) hot sun on a motorbike. I’m excited to let my hair fly in the wind (sorry, not true, it will be squeezed under a helmet), have lots of cozy dinners and enjoy the nature.
